How teams use Lumen, our private AI platform: policy lookups, loan file review, exposure checks, meeting notes, scheduled briefs, and audit trails.

Compliance teams

Policy and procedure lookups

The problem
Staff bring compliance the same questions all day, and the answers are buried in long manuals.
The question
"Nine $9,500 cash deposits this week. What's our SAR deadline?"
What Lumen returns
The rule from the bank's own BSA/AML policy with the section highlighted, plus the next step the policy requires.
How often it runs
All day, for anyone with access to the manual.

BSA/AML

Nine $9,500 cash deposits this week. What's our SAR deadline?

File within 30 calendar days of first detecting the activity. If no suspect is identified, you can take up to 30 more days [1].

Send the pattern to the BSA team for review within 2 business days [2]. The BSA Officer approves every SAR before it is filed [3].

Community and retail banking

Loan file review

The problem
An analyst gets a loan package and checks the tax returns, the financial statements, and the credit policy by hand before committee.
The question
"I just got this loan package from one of our relationship managers. Get me up to speed on the borrower and check the request against our loan policy."
What Lumen returns
A summary of the request with each flag cited to its source. Coverage passes on the statements and fails on the tax returns. The largest customer is over the policy's concentration flag. A follow-up prompt drafts the credit memo in the bank's own template.
How often it runs
On every file in the pipeline.

Commercial lending

Get me up to speed on the borrower and check the request against our loan policy.

Tollard Precision Fabrication is asking for a $4.4M seven-year equipment loan and a line of credit raised from $2.0M to $3.0M.

2025 revenue is $13.4M on the financial statements and $11.9M on the tax returns, a $1.5M gap [1][2].

Debt service coverage is 1.38x on the statements and 1.06x on the returns, against the 1.25x minimum [3].

The largest customer is 31% of revenue, above the 25% flag [4].

Family offices and asset managers

Manager exposure before a commitment

The problem
Exposure to one manager is spread across trusts, holding companies, and co-investments. The holdings report shows part of it, and adding up the rest by hand can take days.
The question
"Vellacourt just sent us their Fund IV materials. Get me up to speed on the fund, and tell me our total exposure to Vellacourt across every entity."
What Lumen returns
Exposure by entity, the co-investment the holdings report missed, the policy cap, and the most the office could commit. It lays out both readings of the co-investment and leaves the call to the investment committee.
How often it runs
Before every new commitment.

Family office

Tell me our total exposure to Vellacourt across every entity.

$22.7M across four entities, counting NAV plus unfunded commitments, or 3.8% of investable assets [1].

That total includes a Birchline Topco co-investment in the 2012 Dynasty Trust. The holdings report files it without a Vellacourt tag, and the agreement gives Vellacourt control [2].

A $10M Fund IV commitment would take exposure to 5.45%, over the 5% cap. The most that fits is $7.3M [3].

The deck quotes a 1.5% fee and the draft LPA says 1.75%, a $125K gap over the investment period [4].

Client and committee meetings

Meeting minutes and follow-ups

The problem
Notes from client calls and committee meetings end up in different places, and follow-ups slip.
What Lumen does
Ekho, Lumen’s meeting app, writes a live transcript and tracks each participant's consent. Transcription runs on your own servers. When the meeting ends, one click turns it into minutes in Word, a deck in PowerPoint, or a tracker in Excel.
How often it runs
Every meeting.

Every morning, every night

Scheduled briefs and agents

The problem
Someone has to read the overnight news, regulator updates, and inbox before the team starts.
What Lumen does
Agents run on a schedule, or start when an email arrives, a document is uploaded, a webhook fires, a Jira issue opens, or someone mentions them in Slack. Our own news and regulatory brief runs at 7:00 each morning, cites every source, and posts to Slack. Its searches go out to public news sites, and your internal files stay on your servers.
How often it runs
Every morning at 7:00 in our own setup. The price is fixed, so a nightly run costs the same as a single one.

Examiners and internal audit

An audit trail you can search

The problem
Examiners and auditors ask who asked what, which tools an agent used, and who changed a permission.
What Lumen does
The Compliance Portal records chat turns, tool calls, agent runs, approvals, meetings, consent events, deletion requests, document exports, permission and config changes, and sign-ins. Search by person, date, keyword, or type, include deleted items, and export the results.
How often it runs
Always on.
